Mamademics: Danielle the Wife

Another quick getting to know me post in survey form:

How long have you been married? I have been married for 3 months. Yes, we’re newlyweds 🙂

How long did you date? We dated for 5 years. We actually said our vows on the 5 year anniversary of us hanging out for the first time.

Is he excited about the baby? OMG! Is he excited? He’s probably more excited than me, if that is even possible. I can remember calling him freaking out and asking what we were going to do and he just said “we’re gonna have a baby.” He loves feeling our son move and talking to him. He loves that he reacts to his voice and I’m convinced they are are already plotting on how to torture me once he’s here.

How does he feel about you career/academic/blog goals? He is very supportive of everything I do. Quick Story: I met my husband (hmmm I need to come up w/ a name for him on here) during my first semester as a Master’s student and I had a take home final that I just didn’t feel like I could do. I remember freaking out and having a mini meltdown about it. Keep in mind we had known each other about 2 months at this point, well he came over and sat in my living room watching basketball, while I sat on the floor attempting to work. Every time I looked up in frustration or threw a piece of paper he would say a kind word and reassure me that I wasn’t going to fail. That evening was one of the first moments in our relationship that I knew he was the one for me.

Being pregnant at this point in my academic career was a major concern for me, and I really had to rely on him for pep talks last semester when I was just so completely overwhelmed by everything on my plate. When I first mentioned doing the guest blogs to him for The Celeb Mommy, I thought he would be against me adding something else to my schedule, but he was all for it. I casually mentioned the website idea last week and he totally ran with it. He’s pretty much already told me I’m going to end up writing a book and the site hasn’t even officially launched yet lol. But that’s  one of the reasons why I love him, because whenever I run an opportunity that I’m hesitant about past him he never sees it as impossible. He always sees it as of course you can do this and think of all the people you can help. Sometimes he has more faith in me than I have in myself.

Favorite part of being a wife so far? This is so corny, but my favorite part of being a wife is knowing that I will have someone to wake up to every morning, and someone waiting for me at the end of the day.
