Happy Monday! It’s time for another Mind Right Monday link-up hosted by yours truly, Dani from Ok, Dani and Reese from Reese and Coco. Oh and link up your post at the end… (If your post doesn’t meet those two requirements, it will be deleted) So, how did I do last week? *hangs head in shame* Last Week’s Goals:
- Start working on course schedule for BM classes. Finish tentative schedule through the midpoint. (BM=brick and mortar) (FAIL!!!)
- Start working on written lectures for online courses. I’m teaching a new five week course that starts on the 19th, so I can’t use any of my old lectures. (Slow Progress)
- Edit at least five more pages of my prospectus and finish half of Writing Centers and the New Racism. Email advisor to schedule meeting… (FAIL!!!)
- Post to Mamademics at least two times, including this post. (DONE!!!)
- Post to Hook Smart once. (DONE!!!)
- Add new Waffle Beanie option to Etsy shop. (DONE!!!)
- Workout at least three times this week. (FAIL, I only worked out once this past week)
- Make oatmeal craisin cookies for the guys. (DONE!!!)
- Meal plan for this week and next. (Half done… I can’t seem to meal plan for two weeks at a time)
- Finish the owl I made for one of my bffs. (FAIL… it’s still sitting here needing to be sewn up and stuffed smh)
- Cook dinner at least three times this week. (I only cooked dinner twice this week)
- Finish Sesame’s flash cards. (FAIL!!!)
I set some pretty lofty goals for last week and I only managed to get through about half of them. Me not completing my goals in full this week sucks a little, but I achieved things I didn’t expect. For the first time since I started this blog, I wrote a post that truly resonated with moms from all walks of life. I had no idea the attention that post would receive and I spent a lot of time responding to comments and FB messages on the subject. More on that later… This is my last full week of work from home life because Fall classes start at my BM job next week. So, most of my goals for this week are the ones I didn’t complete last week. Goals (August 18-24th):
- Start working on course schedule for BM classes. Finish tentative schedule through the midpoint. (BM=brick and mortar)
- Continue working on written lectures for online courses.
- Edit at least five more pages of my prospectus and finish half of Writing Centers and the New Racism. Email advisor to schedule meeting…
- Post to Mamademics two more times this week.
- Post to Hook Smart once.
- Add new Cabled Beanie option to Etsy shop.
- Workout at least three times this week.
- Finish the owl I made for one of my bffs.
- Finish Sesame’s flash cards.
- Start researching blog designers for Mamademics
- Set aside self care time (get my eyebrows threaded, give myself a pedicure, and paint my nails)
This week I am grateful for:
- The outpouring of support and love I received from mothers all over the world and the hope that I have that together we can change the next generation.
- My husband for always pushing me to step outside of my comfort zone and use my “3,000 degrees..” lol.
- My son being happy and healthy.
- My friends for pushing me to write that post and my girl Danyelle for helping me come up with a great title.
- Finding my blog voice. It’s taken me two years to figure out where this blog is taking me and I think I finally found it.
- My thick skin because yea a few years ago some of the comments I received would’ve had me in the fetal position crying. Now I’m like eh… I pushed a kid out without an epidural this is nothing lol.
- My privilege as an educated Black woman who has learned to navigate multiple worlds, and the access I have to make a difference in those arenas.
