A couple weeks ago, I blogged about taking baby steps in gardening through the use of Miracle Gro's new Gro-ablesproduct. Well, one thing I wish someone had told me about gardening was the need for patience. Since I received the basil seed pod, one of the things mentioned was being sure to plant it once spring made an appearance. Well as I'm sure most of you know it's been a very LONG winter in most parts of the country, including down south. I kept waiting for spring to really come and stay, but it was taking a LONG time. So, I decided to plant my pod in a plant pot and then put it outside once the chill was gone. I think spring is here to stay at least I hope it is because hello it's almost May, but my basil hasn't sprouted yet šŸ™

While picking up plant pots in Target, I noticed that they had the Gro-ables on display and decided to purchase a cilantro and spinach pod to try out as well. I'm not sure how long it'll take for them to sprout, but I'm so excited. I'm day dreaming about using fresh cilantro for our Mexican nights and my very own basil for the homemade tomato basil soup my family loves. The best part will not be worrying about the fact that we forgot to pick up fresh herbs during a shopping trip because we'll have them right in our front yard. I think next spring, I'll strive for a full herb garden of my own based on Sprout It's Salad and Herb Garden article.

If you're still on the fence about Gro-ables because you're a newbie like me, this video will show you how simple they are to use.

Have any you tried the Gro-ables pods? Which are your favorites? Any awesome recipes you wanna share?
