Uhh I can’t even remember the last time I participated in Krystyn’s “Mommy and Me Monday” because even though I’ve still been taking lots of selfies (well ussies) with my little one, I haven’t been sharing very many of them because I’m feeling insecure about my appearance. Last month I won a photoshoot with Kita of Kokoa Magazine (the awesome designer behind Mamademics makeover). She specifically wanted to focus on pictures of mothers with their little ones.
While I was excited about the shoot, I also felt like I needed to lose some weight. My weight has fluctuated up and down a lot in the last 4 or 5 years and every time I really get into a workout something happens that sets me off track. I almost backed out of the shoot at the last moment, but Sesame was already excited about taking the pictures and I couldn’t disappoint him.
Before winning the photoshoot, I ordered a couple of Mommy and Me shirts from NBT Threads. They came in the mail when I was trying to decide what we should wear and they were so perfect. Sesame’s shirt says “Mommy You Are My Heart” and mine says “You Are My Heartbeat.”
We took a few shots outside some of the shops in Downtown Decatur and this sign ended up being a perfect backdrop.
After seeing the pictures, I’m so happy that I didn’t back out they’re amazing. There are so many of them, so I’ll be using them throughout the year in random posts. As for my weight concerns, I’m still trying to get back on track with my workouts and I’m planning to do a juice detox in another week, which I’ll probably vlog as well.
