Last year… This year…
Two years ago, I met a tiny human who changed me in ways I never imagined. I expected all the generic things people warned me about when I was pregnant. I loved him the moment I heard his heartbeat for the first time before I even knew he was a him. I knew I would probably never sleep again. I knew that going to the bathroom alone was a thing of the past.
In two years, being his mother has made me more outspoken, braver, and optimistic. He reminds me to slow down and enjoy the moment. He accepts me for who I am and reminds me that everyone else needs to as well. He was just what I needed at that point in my life even though I didn’t know it.
Happy Birthday to the only person who knows how my heart beats from the inside!
