Yesterday was the beginning of our annual family Midwest trip. This year it’s a bit longer than usual because Sesame’s aunt is getting married. Anyway, on our way here we stopped at Cracker Barrel for a sit down lunch and as we were leaving I decided to get him something from the little shop. At first I wanted to get something with the state we were in on it, but it was all university stuff and he’s not wearing any other Big Ten schools stuff. Yea I’m elitist like that…GO BLUE!
Well after looking around a little, I came across a board book entitled Little America. It’s filled with rhyming riddles about different places in America. I decided to get the book and while nursing him before we left I came up with an awesome new tradition. I’m going to get him a book everywhere we travel. It doesn’t necessarily have to be about that place, but I will write a message somewhere in the book saying where and when we bought the book.
He tried reading it alone, but I’m going to read it to him tonight once he’s bathed and we’re settled.
Do you have any traveling traditions with your little ones?
