Notice the lack of updates? Well we took Baby S for a Midwest road trip and we were gone for almost two weeks. I packed my laptop with the intention of blogging while we were away, but there really wasn’t much time. Sorry… I now have an app on my iphone, so I can blog on the go. So many things happened during our vacation and of course I kept thinking I need to blog this, but now that I’m sitting here with time I can’t think of where to start. I guess I’ll just use this as a mini update…
My Bell’s Palsy is almost gone and I’m feeling much better. I even took pictures with Baby S while we were on vacation, and I’m going to schedule a family picture session soon. I’m thinking about using the same photographer who did my maternity shoot. I really liked that we could do them in the privacy of our own home. I think that will work out better for Baby S since he seemed to hate the portrait studio last time. Plus, I’ll have the rights to our pictures without paying an astronomical price.
Mr. S will be going back to work in another week, so I’ll be on my own with Baby S during the day again. I’m going back to work in August but I’m only teaching two nights a week, so Baby S will be with me during the day and Mr. S in the evenings. We are both going to be super busy, since not only am I teaching two nights a week but I also just accepted an online (part time) teaching position and an online (part time) tutoring position. Both of the online jobs are extremely flexible, so I will be able to spend tons of time with Baby S. I’m going to try and keep my schedule as evenings only, so I am free to nurse Baby S on demand during the day and he can be with daddy in the evenings. Oh and Mr. S will be taking an evening class once a week for his accelerated one-year teaching certification program, which means he’ll have homework as well. We’ve been discussing how we’re going to support each other and balance everything, but I’ll be sure to blog about how we make it work as the year progresses. We’ll also have help from my sister-in-law who is officially done with her residency program and will be able to come by some evenings to help out.
We’re finally getting around to setting up Baby S’ room. He will probably still co-sleep with us, but we can move all his cloth diaper supplies to his bedroom. I’m also going to start getting him dressed in his room and having activity time (reading, tummy time, etc) in his room; so he gets used to it.
Once we finish his room, my office is next on the list. I’m SUPER excited about getting it together. I seriously need my own space with no distractions. I may even post pictures once we finish 🙂
