20 Things You May Not Know About Me
A few weeks ago, I was tagged on Instagram to share 20 things about myself. When I was trying to decide on a post for this Wednesday, I decided to share that list. Plus, I’m kind of having a horrible week and I don’t really want to whine about it publicly yet.
So, here are 20 things you may not know about me…
- I love cooking and baking, and I’d love to take culinary/pastry classes one day.
- I didn’t read the Harry Potter series until this past winter break and now I wish I had read them with everyone else.
- Speaking of reading, I miss when I just read to explore another world. Being an academic can be boring sometimes.
- I’ve made most of my friends thanks to the good old internet and online journaling/blogging.
- I didn’t think I’d ever have kids.
- Or a husband.
- I fell in love with my husband because he could cook lol.
- I think about homeschooling often, but I love my son’s preschool.
- I never intended to apply to the University of Michigan, it just sort of happened.
- I used to be very religious, but now I’m agnostic.
- I love seeing other people achieve their dreams and I’ll help anyway I can.
- I’m really nice until you cross me. I’ll pretty much ignore your existence after that point.
- I was born in Nebraska, but raised in Detroit.
- My master’s thesis focused on Black feminism in novels from the Harlem Renaissance.
- I listened to the most misogynistic music while writing it. I’m talking Eminem, T.I., Young Jeezy, Ying Yang Twins, etc.
- I jumped up and down when I found out Beyonce was pregnant because I was pregnant too lol.
- When I was in kindergarten, I said I wanted to be an actress when I grow up.
- I take more naps now that I’m a mom than I did when it was just me. #itakeallthenaps
- I’m more Black Panther Party than NAACP.
- I can eat french fries every single day!
