5 Quotes From Black Women That Inspire Me To Keep Writing

There is something about March that means I will inevitably fall behind on my writing. It’s been this way as long as I can remember and sadly my non-academic writing is often what gets placed on the back burner. I had a few great ideas for Women’s History Month, but between birthday festivities, volunteering, grading student work, dissertation writing, and preparing for our trip next month there haven’t been enough hours in the day.

Even though I’m not writing something new today, I thought I’d still share some inspiration with you all. Here are five quotes from Black women that inspire me to keep writing. Click the pictures to find more from these inspirational women.

I hope these quotes inspire you to keep writing like they have for me. I know I’ll sit down to write those planned posts soon and even if it’s not Women’s History Month they will still matter because Black History and Women’s History are American History.

P.S. I have managed to keep with the #BlackHistory365 project for March by sharing a book a day on Facebook. If you’ve missed some days, go ahead and check out the store.
