Mind Right Monday: New Semester Butterflies

Happy Monday! It’s time for another Mind Right Monday link-up hosted by yours truly, Dani from Ok, Dani and Reese from Dear Darrica. As a reminder these are the goals I set for myself for this month…

Here are my Major Goals for January 2015

  • Blog/Vlog 2-3 times a week
  • Finish my dissertation prospectus
  • Finish Valentine’s Day options for Etsy
  • Driving lesson at least once a week
  • Create a newsletter for Mamademics and Hook Smart
  • Get started with the designer for a Mamademics makeover
  • Potty train Sesame
  • Work out no less than 3 times a week
  • Complete a detox

Last week I focused on getting back to working out, writing, and potty training Sesame.  I managed to get two workouts in, but really want to up this in the coming weeks. I did a lot of brainstorm-esque writing that I need to turn into something of substance over the next few days. I didn’t vlog at all because I’m vain and my eyebrows really need to be threaded lol. I attempted to start potty training Sesame, but he’s being very resistant at the moment. He did pretty well the first half of the first day in terms of actually sitting on the potty when I asked him too, but the next two days it was a fight and I just sorta gave up for the moment. He likes wearing big boy underwear, but he does not like having to sit on the potty, so I’m taking a break from it this coming week. I didn’t get a driving lesson in this week because it was freezing and I had no desire to leave the house unless I needed too, plus Mr. S worked late quite a few days last week.

Mamademics Inspiration
This week marks the start of the new semester for me and my students, so I’m trying to take it a bit slow with my goals for the week. I really want to get in at least one vlog and i’m still debating if it’s going to be Mamademics related or for Hook Smart. I also plan to complete my 48 hour detox on Friday/Saturday. I will work out at least three times, and even if the prospectus draft I have doesn’t feel good enough I will still submit it to my advisor on Friday morning. In order to finish all these things, I’m reinstating my 5:30/6:00 am wake ups that I did the second half of 2013 and the first few months of 2014. I despise waking up early, but I was very productive during those times because I got up early. Hopefully I’ll be into a rhythm very soon and it won’t suck so much anymore.

Alright, on to what I’m grateful for this week:

  • Long winter breaks
  • Sleep
  • A husband who cooks
  • The fact that Sesame’s vocabulary  is increasing and he’s polite in public
  • The ability to do what I love
